If you want to argue with them next time, mention that their terms and conditions simply states that the store just needs to be a New Zealand retailer.
I never mention the location of the store. I just show em the website and they're usually all good with it.

@Wakrak: Have mentioned the same to Lyall Bay, Welly store last time. Was told store has its own policy. I asked for the written store policy they say they won't show me as it is their discretion.
Since the store I want to price match was in Hamilton, they asked why not I travel there to get that price. Absolutely appalling how some staff behave like this is their father's company.
Have not spent a single cents in TWH since.

@KiwiHunts4CheapDeals: make a formal complain, I did and got a $50 TWH voucher, i mention COMCOM, FTA and etc in the letter and i got a reply within 2 days and i told them i also have a recording conversation as evidence. and it legal to record.

@d8400: Good on you! I would have done the same if I'm not too busy dealing with other stuff in my life.
Honestly I don't think $50 is worth my effort talking to them. I did try to voice record them, but was told off and asked to leave and said they will trespass me next time. All I was trying to do is to ask them to repeat what they said so that I can use it as evidence.
I might report this to ComCom one of these days when I have the time. But then ComCom is another useless entity who only wants to go after big banks for big bucks.
