      Definitely easier. I have mine (Roborock S6) connected to Alexa. Got my 3yr old yelling at the echo dot to clean the house lol

      They are OK within their limitations. With relatively dumb models like this you have to have the floor basically clear before it starts cleaning, particularly of dangling cables and shoes that will tangle it up.

      It tends to get stuck on things like laundry drying racks and barstools that are too low to the ground for it to bump into or see on the LIDAR.

      It has a fairly small battery so it typically has to do half the house, then stop for a recharge.

      If you move the furniture around or leave large objects on the floor it gets confused and has to rebuild its map.

      The mop is a bit feeble as it doesn't press down much so it is just like loosely dragging a damp cloth across the floor.

      It will not work at all if it can't connect to the internet, if that matters to you.

      But even after all that, having the ability to e.g. automatically sweep the kitchen every morning and night really is life changing.

        I think the newer roborocks do clean without internet. I have a Q revo master and recently changed router and haven’t gotten around to connecting the robo vac to the new wifi yet and it’s been cleaning on the same schedule everyday

      It can be, but depends on your house and clutter freeness for how effective it is. In my old place which was pretty much clutter free with high furniture, it was such a life saver and always under the furniture clean too. This current house I'm just reserving it for the garage.

    This one only got 3200mah battery, from my experience with 3200mah battery robots, they won't be able to clean my house (81m2 accessable area for the robots) in one run. 5200mah ones can finish in one run with 10~30% battery left depends on the robot's model and suction power. There is 6400mah battery for these robots now, which is even better, but only high-end models use it.

    If you don't mind the robot perform an auto return base for recharge, then it doesn't really matter.

      Yes I have one of these and it only cleans about half the house and then takes about 3 hours to recharge.

    I got into the robot vacuum rabbit hole after seeing this deal and noticed that Amazon US has the Ecovacs T90 Pro model for 880 NZD with free shipping if you’re an Amazon Prime member. That seems awfully cheap, as it currently retails for 2,500 NZD at PB Tech:

    Has anyone had any experience buying electronics from Amazon US?

      Well it will be a different voltage system over in the USA which needs AFAIK a converter…

        With that price differences, personally I would not care about that extra converter. That price at PB Tech looks like a rip off to me.
