Apple has just significantly increased the prices across their entire lineup.
PB Tech is still selling the M5 MacBook Pro at old prices.
The cheapest MacBook Pro (16GB/1TB configuration) is $3,899 on Apple's website and all other retailers.

It was only like $400 more for 1tb from apple but now the prices are crazy.

I think it is just panic sale strategy, which they often use. Look at the current stock level, there are still plenty of them across the nation.
