If you’ve had your eye on an Apple product, I would suggest buying it asap from a retailer who hasn’t yet updated to the new pricing

Eg base MacBook Neo went from $1149 to $1399

      • that Apple TV 4K increase is wild. $529 for the ethernet version….more expensive than some tv's itself

        • $529 for an Apple TV!!! Wow. I guess the Apple tax is back. That's a bonkers price!

      • They did well to hold off price increases until now to be fair, many laptops are >20% what they used to be/comparable units were.

    • Mate I paid about a hundred for a home pod mini. What TF happened

  • There's also 10% cashback on shopback today for apple (with standard exclusions)

  • I had eye on apple refurbished Macbook M2 pro with 16gb/256gb for $1159 couple of days back, was hoping to grab that on the cashback day and it's gone now. Thought M2 would be better than Neo for my daughter. Damn missed it.

  • The strange thing is that they have also increased refurbished prices a lot. Even the the RAM for that was likely purchased well before prices went up so much.

    • Yup.

Not at all strange - makes sense to sell for current market value, rather than cost price.

If they just carried on selling at 'old prices' eventually someone would purchase stuff from Apple and re-sell for more at current market prices and take the gain instead.

Same works in reverse if the current market price has fallen - the loss has already been made. Holding onto something in the hope that it will go back up in price is just speculation.

  • Mightyape have direct import ipads for $698, Ive ordered one as I was planning on getting a new one in July.
