Firefox Built-in VPN: Free 50GB/Month (Unlimited Data until 31/8/2026, Free Mozilla Account Required) @ Firefox

271

Requires Firefox 151.0.4. Note that Firefox is also available on mobile.

VPN is a built-in Firefox feature that adds privacy by routing your browser traffic through a secure proxy server and masking your IP address. The feature includes a monthly data limit of 50 GB. Firefox will notify you when you are approaching this limit with a prompt in the browser. It is available to a limited set of users during the initial rollout, starting with Firefox version 149.

Unlike Mozilla VPN, which protects your entire device, the built-in VPN only masks traffic that originates in Firefox. It's free to use and doesn’t require a subscription.

To use VPN, you need to sign in with a Mozilla account. If you’re eligible, you’ll see a prompt in the Firefox toolbar inviting you to set up the feature.

When @BeatThatFlight says above that '… this is the list of countries', I suspect what he meant to articulate that it is the list of countries from within which you can access the VPN, which is quite different from a list of exit-points that you can appear to be connecting to an end resource from.

      However, I could be wrong.

    • Confirming that the list in the post is the list of countries you can set your Country to in the VPN.
      - I have function to select Australia as a VPN option, within inbuilt Firefox browser (v. 151.0.4 (64-bit))

    • Try sportsx app I mentioned here. No vpn required.

  • Any (other) notable Cheapies savings that can be made with the use of a VPN?
I'm currently subscribed to Spotify Turkey, paid via Turkish Google Pay.

    • I just use Z2U.com these days for Spotify/Netflix/Youtube Premium etc

  • Only USA, GB and a handful of EU exit points available on mine. And the USA option didn’t seem to work. When switched on my browser still geolocated to NZ.

  • Only 5 countries available for me :(
