AMEX Platinum Edge - Complimentary return flights

Is the return flights still a thing with this card? Last time I used it was in 2019, then Covid happened, and I haven't flown anywhere since.

Yes. Do take note that Amex have their own flight inventory so your preferred flight may not be redeemable, especially if the dates are close. They also have a cap on the flight cost so you may be liable for the cost difference.

You can call Amex to redeem the flight.

I have not used mine for years either. Several years ago the agent told me the fare codes applicable to free flights. They are P, K, X, G which you will see on the AirNZ website. It might have changed since then but is helpfull to see if the flights you want have those codes.

  Unfortunately we couldn't get 'free' flights to suit our intinerary. They really have scaled back the availability of seats
