Dyson Zone Headphones $199 Delivered @ Dyson

140

Significant discount for these ones, down from $1099 and free shipping. I guess no one is buying.

From what I gather looking online, fantastic sounding headphones with great noise canceling; however, poor execution with the fans being so close to your ears and the significant weight.

I have a pair of these, agree with the review above. They sound great and are comfortable, great battery life, but pretty heavy. The earcups are pretty chunky too so not the most comfortable to wear on planes etc.

If you can handle the extra $100 (and losing the gimmicky air filter), I'd probably recommend Dyson OnTrac, also on sale for $299 and essentially the same headphones in a smaller package. I recently "upgraded" to the OnTracs and am stoked with them so far.

At $299 You're into the Sony XM4/5 range and other better Headphones

  • Does it come with the air filter?

    Looking like the winter soldier

wow tempted. Is this the cheapest Dyson product for sale? Never owned a "Dyson" before (am a Cheapie lol)

I'm going to buy one to filter dust when mowing my paddocks. Is is suitable? Haha

    • I know you're joking but they don't filter sh/t all because there's a big gap between the mask and your face that lets unfiltered air through, Dyson actually addressed this and said that it was designed that way so people could still wear a N95 or similar mask beneath it, which makes it all the more confusing as to why these things exist. All they do is blow filtered air mixed with unfiltered air directly into your mouth and nose, which isn't a good thing because after watching a doctor explain it on Youtube this can dry out the nose causing small cracks to appear that can make it easier for irritants and germs to enter the body, and if it's a cold day the cold air being blown onto you can actually reduce the number of white blood cells in the nasal area lowering your defense against any germs that manage to slip through.

They're the most confusing and pointless product I've ever seen.

      • Thanks for explaining. Have bought one to replace my broken Bose headphone. Hopefully the noise canceling is good. Will test the filter to see. If it doesn't work, just remove the visor.

Do they sound as bad as they look?

    • +1

They only sound bad when you haven't replaced the electrostatic carbon filters.

You'd have to be either rich or stupid to pay $1100 for these things.

The pointless mask gimmick aside, from all the reviews I've seen they seem to sound ok as headphones, but all have said that they have subpar noise cancellation compared to other headphones like the Airpod Max, Sony MX5 and Bose QC 45's and are missing a lot of the features that those other headphones have.

And when it comes to weight, without the air filter mask bit attached the Dyson is 595gms which is more than double the Sony MX5's which are 250gm, so the Dysons might be more suited for using while sitting stationary at a desk rather than when you're out and about the town.

  • Just checked these out and and they’re the same internals as the other OnTrac style, just with the added option for the face filter attachment piece.

🎧 They get good reviews for sound but check out the weight - like over 1/2 kg for these ones - damn⁉️

I’d personally take the OnTrac style as it’s a bit lighter, but these Zones are $100 cheaper and you can wear them to themed parties dressed up as a transformer.
