That's pretty good. @beatthatflight - who could I go with that could offer a good connecting flight from New York to a Hub in Europe, preferably say Geneva or Milan ? COuld Qantas offer that also ?

    • Not really Qantas, but if you're after a oneworld alliance partner, try AA, as they often codeshare with Qantas.

SO if we want these prices , do we book through you or are they also available through normal Travel Agencies as well ? @beatthatflight

    • Well, on the sites linked in the results, as they have those prices. Presumably some travel agencies could match the prices, but I don't really track their services, sorry.

  • Any details on the best times of the year pricing and weather wise WLG -> Japan -> West US (LAX, SFO, etc) -> WLG ?

Planning on a trip next year.

    • Hard to know this far out, but be aware that Japan in July is often the cheapest because it's like a literal hotbox sauna. I was showering twice a day and changing clothes too. Saying that, I still loved it, but September is better.

      • I went to Tokyo in July for work a few years ago and had to wear a suit and tie, still loved Tokyo but it was hard work trying not too look like a sweaty mess. I hope to go back one day in shorts and T-shirt.

    Couldn't pay me to go.

True that. Was in transit in JFK this time last year, was a shit show. Transit ffs compared to Changi its a different planet. Good luck anyone travelling there, and make sure your hands are clean they take fingerprints off all your fingers.

      • +2

I have decided to never ever transit via LAX again either. It's disgusting how bad it is.

        • These go via DFW if they connect, which is marginally better. LAX is where travel dreams go to die, imho.

      • I was there a few times last month. Really efficient, and no queues in JFZ. Ice helping the TSA security now, its a breeze. The prints are in many countries around the world now, and you dont need to do it each time i dont think.

    • +2

I haven't been but definitely nothing is drawing me to go. Safety, expenses, friendliness and things to do isn't really drawing me in. lol One persons expenses in US could take a whole family of four in vietnam or 2 people in Japan

  • Well.. in my circumstance, I'm looking at options of how to get to Central Europe (France) without flying through any of the Middle East Hubs , which the majority of carriers do from our part of the globe.

I welcome any other / better options.

    • china!

    • +2

I’ve done both London and Amsterdam via Changi/Singapore which were great

      • +1

Changi transit is amazing, it's like the complete opposite of LAX

    • I rate China Airlines (It's Taiwanese not a Mainland airline) so the service is good. They are often pretty competitive too. Otherwise, you could try Lufthansa via Germany and Singapore.

Or Paris to Perth direct with Qantas then onto NZ?
