Do you do the facebook / insta ones? It's a pain but so many have shifted to there. Secret is to find the ones with hardly any entrants. It helps also if you have a huge bunch of people you can "tag for an extra entry"
yeah nah - I don't do FB or Insta ones (which as mentioned below rules out many).
I don't do insta. So these days most comps are out. Did win a ride on mower ($7000 worth) and some perfume a couple of years ago. Nothing since.
I recently won a V $100 gift card, however the 3rd party promo company provided me with an AU prezzee card which is only able to be redeemed on AU retailers hahaha
You can use it on Amazon AU get delivery to NZ.

I do the ones highlighted on here in the comps section. Are you aware of that?
Otherwise once you have entered a few on facebook , the algorithm will find you more. It's almost worth making a separate facebook account for competitions. Because if that's what you are predominantly doing, your facebook feed will detect that and snowball to more competitions.
I won $100 off the radio a few weeks back, texting a codeword to get into a draw.
Reading the terms is the way to go, ie zmonline used to let you enter multiple times(so entering hundreds of times is ok, as long as you did it over days not scripted/abuse etc). Having an auto form filler add-on etc can be useful for stuff like that to pre-populate it.
The best for me have been purchase required comps and instant win comps that are poorly promoted or allow free entries. Also keep in mind you can often enter once per household member per day rather than once per household to get an edge.
https://www.lottos.com.au/ used to be a fantastic resource for competitions(ie often a AU comp is open to NZ or a similar one will run locally with the big name brands who rely on multinational marketing firms), it's a paid forum($44AUD/yr) but I made my money back many times over with access. It's generally AU competitions content so takes a bit of work to find good NZ ones but I've found several gems that way.
insta/fb etc are too hard to win, smart move is to make a new profile for it because it will clog your feed and add some competition friends from the local fb groups etc. You will see what they like/comment on/pages they add etc for some tips. The odds are generally terrible and not worth the time imo compared to say minimum wage labour.
Last year was a great year for me with wins but this year I've had hardly any!
Had really good luck at the end of last year and won $10k at Woolworths and a few days later won $1k at Mitre10!
Didn't do anything special but scanned my Rewards / airpoints cards when making purchases.

I am another one who won't enter Facebook and insta like us, "tag a friend" , etc comps though.
Used to win stuff fairly regularly back when KiwiCompers was popular.
I.do occasionally wonder how many people win and never get the contact due to it being auto sorted into spam/promotions folders though. I did once get a "reply to this email and get a $50 Prezi card" from TM (ages ago) that went to promotions that I.only.saw by chance.
This year has been terrible, think i have only won tickets to a race event at manfield
