Repeated problems with ShopBack NZ - missing cashback/faulty quests not tracking/rejected claims

So based on good feedback here from others, I signed up to ShopBack NZ but am striking many different problems with missing cashbacks.

Yes, I am using the app and making purchases from the App and within the App itself.

The "help" is useless AI and even when you manage to get a real person at Support, it's still useless as many of them are just as helpful as AI chatbot!

Is there any way I can improve this experience/stop wasting as much time chasing support and having no luck?!

  • Has anyone else been able to get the Temu Quest coupon ($10 for a minimum of $50 Temu purchase via Shopback)?
    I'm still waiting for it.

    • Yes. I got it. It is confirmed as well.

    • I got robbed of mine because I forgot about the $5 Temu credit I had 😭
      With GST it got dropped down to $47.

    1. Quest for Uber gift cards. Spend $100 on Uber gift cards by 31 May to get $10 as a quest.
      This was working and tracking in April. However the progress meter /$100 is now "stuck" and doesn't progress/recognise any purchases. I note that in April the Uber gift cards were called Uber Gift Card but the purchases of the same in May are just called "Uber". I suspect that this is the reason that the Quest is not tracking purchases.

    2. I have accommodation booked and paid and stay completed at ALL Accor+ hotel that didn't track. I lodged a missing claim and it was rejected as they said that "no missing cashback was found". I booked through ShopBack and emailed them the paid invoice as proof but no reply yet (AI chatbot was useless). This also should have satisfied the 50 sparks for making a purchase as a quest but I'm not going to chase that as would be wasting my time

    3. Ticketek purchase again using ShopBack app but $0.70 not tracked. Sent missing claim form along with screenshots and it came back again rejected as they said that "no missing cashback was found". Waste of time!

  • You virtually never get 100%of your cashback. Say if its 40% you will probably get 37/ 38% roughly give or take.
    Read in the fine print its up to the partner store how much they actually pay out so it may be lower than the actuall amount. Usually is but not by much. So yes not worth chasing tiny amounts so be happy if you get 95% of it. Or don't be lol, but yes
    waste of time chasing it.
