Looks like Uber could be expanding into more regional parts of New Zealand soon. I found active recruitment ads aimed at drivers in places like Tokoroa [central North Island], Levin [lower North Island], Ashburton [mid Canterbury], Whakatāne [eastern Bay of Plenty], Hāwera [south Taranaki], Oamaru [North Otago], Wānaka [Central Otago tourism hub], and Waiheke Island.
That suggests Uber is targeting smaller towns, tourism hotspots, and regional service centres, not just the big cities now. Could be a smart move where taxis are limited and locals need more transport options.

Do drivers get told where someone is going? i.e. if someone in levin puts wellington airport, can driver see the destination or reject? I've thought about a few extra hours to top up some $ but the thought of coming back empty from such a trip would be a waste of time and money.
