  • What's the suitcase situation for Fiji Airways?

We're thinking about going back for another month but I've now been spoiled by the 2x bags per person on Chinese airlines from previous trips.

      1x 30 kg

      • Thanks, you get a one up but the luggage allowance gets an "Eh"

  • Shame you cant do a layovers for a few days ?

    • You can but you have to select it as multi-city and they usually charge more.

  • I could only find the cheap prices if using that kiwi.com =/ buying from the Fiji Airways seems to be $900 more expensive for my dates
how safe is to buy from kiwi.com?

    • And if it's that much cheaper, what are the chances they'll honour the flights?

      • I flew to Tokyo on beatthatflights deal maybe 4 to 5 years ago via Fiji.. No issues at all

It was about 700 nzd return back then too which was way cheaper than all other airlines

        • @jackvdbuk did you buy your tickets from a very sus website?

          • +1

@deadfish: Yep, have to do that, as direct was quite. A bit more.

I do a expression of: if more than a 100 difference.. book the dodgy. Though I've never had issues with any third party booking platform. Ymmv

            @deadfish: "very sus" - hey! :P

But if you're wondering about OTAs like Kiwi.com, I've got a FAQ here: https://www.beatthatflight.com.au/about

I was reluctant at first to but have used kiwi a few times now (including Fiji air and Jetstar). You get a booking reference from airlines and load in their respective airline app like Jetstar etc. I wouldn’t use for complicated bookings but great on point to point bookings.

@beatthatflight Thanks for these. Me and my partner did Thailand via Haikou in March and loved it thanks to your posts. We're looking to do Japan or China next, but who knows what else will come up!

    • That's fantastic, great to hear!

Just so people are aware, this site appears to be set up with affiliate tracking for flight bookings.

The page source includes Travelpayouts tracking IDs such as marker, trs, promo_id, and campaign_id, which are commonly used to credit commissions from referred bookings.

That means bookings made through the site may earn the OP a commission.

    just transparency so people know.

thats why his post has associate in it and he usually explains about comission and btw we dont pay more for him to receive comission, he puts a lot of time and work to write and run scripts to find cheaper flights for us

I know how these work etc just wanted to let people know

        • +2

Then you wouldn't have reported it as well, to be fair…

    • +4

It's stated at the bottom of every post on the site. :)

      • Indeed just letting people know here also

        • +2

@beatthatflight has been active on here for quite awhile now and always associates his posts to his work, so it’s pretty clear what he does by this point. Also have to add that his contributions are often more useful than some of the regular posters we see on here….

          • @samsteez: Yes most definitely the op is great such a great person
