100% cashback on AU but only 28% on NZ - can we get parity?

Hey ShopBack NZ team,

I noticed that ShopBack AU is currently offering 100% cashback on NordVPN, while the same deal is only showing 28% cashback on the ShopBack NZ site.

Given that this deal isn't location-specific and is not tied to a physical store or AU-only service, not sure why there's such a significant gap between the two offers. Is this something the Shopback NZ team could look at matching?

Would be great to see NZ members get the same value, especially when the underlying deal is essentially the same product/service available to both markets.

Otherwise is it possible to buy the deal on AU site from New Zealand?

  • if you have a AUS bank account and linked to shopback AU , i dont see why someone cannot use that deal.

    • I believe you need an AU mobile number as well

I haven't looked into it at all, but is there no simple way to get an Aussie mobile number without being there?

I guess if you happened to be there for some reason (or know someone who was there), you could get a SIM, activate it, and bring it back with you to NZ. You'd presumably be on roaming charges here, but if you only used it for this kind of thing occasionally, that might not matter much (plus I think 2Degrees, for example, gives you free roaming in Aus anyway, so there might be providers there that do the same in reverse?)

Topping up (annually, say) should be no problem as long as you could do it online - I would think most, if not all, providers have that option.

        • Yes, for the future.
But don't know why wouldn't shopback offer the same in their NZ site considering nordvpn is an online service.
Cashrewards was awesome while they lasted - Though they were in AU, no issues at all signing up to them using NZ bank acccount and NZ mobile.

        • AUS is pretty strict about it, requiring ID etc for the sale of a SIM/eSIM. No semi-anonymous SIM's like NZ has.

Okay, but not sure why that would be a problem per se?
