  • That's pretty good deal - saw someone on tiktok buy a ticket to London a week ago for about $1100 one way with Etihad via Abu Dhabi for travel end of May

Risky purchase given flights are being cancelled left, right and centre there. I’d avoid that route this year given the Iran war and how close the airport is to Iran.

If, as expected, the US sends in ground troops then this war is likely to go on for months and Abu Dhabi airport would be very much at risk given its proximity to the US bases that are hosted by the UAE. The airport would be a prime target for Iran.

    • Insurance cover this scenario?

Generally no. It's no longer an unforeseen event.

        • Even if it was unforeseen they generally exclude war and terrorism.

      • Insurance cover this scenario?

You would have to check specific policies, but I understood that war events are generally not covered at all, whether 'expected' or not?

  • Anymore sub 500 China deals?

I'm watching, but not at present :/
