Check Your New World App for Offers

Probably targeted but worth checking your Clubcard offers in the New World app this week, in my offers I had $12 worth of New World bucks back when I spend $30+ in 2 separate transactions before the 5th April, which if you hit right on the $60 mark is 20% cashback, which isn't a bad deal on groceries. The good thing with New World dollars is that you can use them immediately, there's no limit you have to reach, so you can do your transactions, get your $12+ back, then use it to go buy some more groceries.

They also offered me the exact same deal at the beginning of March so keep an eye on them because in my case they're offering me much better deals than the Woolworths loyalty scheme is.

  • Also, Dunedin City New World are still doing the 600g bags of frozen Hellers pork tenders for $4.99 down from $13, plus they've included the American style BBQ pork poppers in the promo this week, I bought half a dozen bags of them to throw in the freezer. I bought those, a 750g bag of Robert Harris coffee beans that were on special, some Equal that was on special, and a bottle of milk to reach my 2 $30 transactions ($32 & $33) and I ended up getting around $15.50 back because I also had an offer of $3 back when buying frozen goods and the deals stack.

  • This week alone I've had $25 worth of NW dollars which I've managed to combine with specials.

Another bonus with NW Dollars is that you can also spend them dollar for dollar at Liquorland.

  • I got $20 for 2x$100 spends (plus $10+ of other miscellaneous spends), then this week $40 for 2x$100 spends… Again plus other bonuses. Usually try to avoid new world though because they're more expensive than paknsave/woolworths…

    • According to a Consumer article from back in Oct '24 New World are the 2nd cheapest behind Pak'n Save for everyday items.

"We tracked the online price of 22 products for 8 weeks. As well as food and drink, cleaning products were also on our shopping list. We didn’t include fresh meat or produce because for a fair comparison we’d need to consider quality. Wine and beer were also excluded. In most cases, all items were the same brand and size in each supermarket (we didn’t track supermarket home brands)."

They found that on average PnS customers paid the least, by a very large margin, then New World Clubcard members, then Woolworths Everyday Rewards members.

      PnS $116.18
      NW $130.13
      WW $132.05

I usually do all my normal shopping at PnS and then only buy things that're on special from the other 2.
