TZ have recently been pushing 'spend $80, receive $200'. Thought to myself that it looks like there may not be a school holiday visit. This is the promo that changes my decision. Thanks for the post.

  • Thank you so much!

  • Apologies if this is a stupid question, but when you say that this is 'Redeemable in-Store Only' what does that mean given it is on the TZ App?

I'm guessing it is related to this line:

Guests who redeem a Voucher for arcade credit and elect to load a further $40 onto the same Powercard at the time of redemption in-venue will receive a total of $120 in arcade credit (comprising the $20 value of the Voucher, the $40 load and $60 in bonus credit).

    • You add the code in the app but you have to add it to your Powercard in-store.

      • You add the code in the app but you have to add it to your Powercard in-store.

        Got it - thanks!

Hi Wakrak, I think the title should be "$20 Voucher OR Load $40 for $120 Credit". You can only select one of the options.

The description needs to be corrected as well.
"$20 Voucher and Load a further $40 in-venue to get a total of $120 Promotion."

  • When redeeming in the app and then pulling up the Voucher Details - mine contradicts itself, seems to be a typo:

"4. Guests who redeem a Voucher for arcade credit and elect to load a further $40 onto the same Powercard at the time of redemption will receive a total of $120 in arcade credit (comprising the $20 value of the Voucher, the $40 load and $80 in bonus credit)."

Which means you should get $140 total credit.

    • They've run this a few times in the past. It's always one or the other. Appreciate if someone can clarify this in store. I can't go there until the weekend.

Yep its one or the other (I loaded $40 on to receive $120 in total)

  • Can you use these credits to play bowling or is it strictly for the arcade games?

    • I had the same question last year. They said arcade games only.

      • Seems to be redeemable?

        1. Arcade credit is only redeemable for game play at Timezone, Zone Bowling and Kingpin venues, and is subject to the standard Powercard terms and conditions above.
    • There are two different bowling game, one is within Timezone arcade that can be redeemed (shorter lanes), one is separate to Timezone arcade that can't be redeemed (longer lanes similar to Tenpin bowling)

    • I think @bilberry is correct. It depends on the Timezone and the lanes. I have used free credit to pay for bowling on the short lanes at the base Hamilton.

    • I have argued the wording directly with Timezone before, both instore and by contacting them by email saying legally the offer is claiming you receive $20 on top of the $40 offer. No joy there, and at both Albany and Henderson locations in Auckland you can only use credit on arcade games.

  • Is it normal for them to ask for your existing physical card when you redeem the free $20? I already had the card on my phone, but they said I needed the physical one. Otherwise they’ll just give you a new card, but then I’ll lose all my Timezone rewards. Why can’t they just scan my digital card and load the $20 onto it?
