Looked into it but was considerably more expensive than my local fill up so haven't. Good idea and definitely could save in the long run (but bit of a gamble)

Probably was a good idea at the start of March but right now mine shows $3.05/ltr.

There's also a danger/risk of them not be able to supply your pre-purchased fuel if supply runs out.

    • please explain?

        well..

If situation goes from bad to worse (worst?), then we don't get fuel shipment to the country, no matter how many liter you have pre-purchased, you won't be able to get them if the Z station isn't able to sell you petrol.

        • yes but it never expires so z will eventually refuel and you can tide out cheap fuel until they do

    • I remember checking Sharetank 1.5 weeks ago and it was showing $2.50. Now it's $3 so yeah, damn lol

Haven't gone to Z for ages. Just checked the app, still have 108L of petrol 91 which I paid $2.25/L during Covid. So probably still a good option to stock up when the fuel prices are low even Z is usually not the cheapest.

same here, i stop using it when petrol got cheap and kept my sharetank amount for times like this.

It's probably too late now unless prices rise further. Best to have done it a week ago when petrol was $2.60. I preemptively top up my sharetank when missles are flying in the middle east.

  • After seeing the scramble back home with fuel i jumped onto it on 4th march i bought 155L for $1.55 in welly, i probably should have bought more because that should only last until December thats one thing you guys have that Australia doesnt the pre buy fuel its a game changer! Note: look at Auckland for the petrol trend for NZ…. BP is usually first

  • Yep purchased $1k of 95 at 2.65 a week or two back when it looked like prices were gonna go up

Means can go to the z stations knowing there will likely be plenty of fuel there given they are more pricey and less in demand

  • I was a bit late but bought 155L last week at $2.83. It was $2.63 the previous day. It's now over $3. I still have 40L left from 100 that I bought for $2.43 a while back.

But like someone else said, Sharetank isn't any help if Z runs out of petrol.
