I'm moving from Auckland to Palmy and have been quoting the cost to hire a 5 ton truck and getting a mate to drive it and loading ourselves, etc. I've only found 1 or 2 places that hire out trucks this size and both charge reasonable rates for the truck but kill me with the cost per km charge (almost 600km each way @ 50c a km isn't cheap).
Anyone know of any cheaper options or have other ideas? Most places who have more than one depot (pickup Auckland drop off Palmy) don't have a truck large enough.
