Many people, here and elsewhere, have said that they make it very difficult - but to be fair, I haven't bothered myself, given other people's comments.

Yes, a few times. They call over a manager who verifies the website-listed price on their own computer. Haven't had any refusals but I suppose it depends on the manager.
No issue when price-beating on Friday. Though the deal was with The Warehouse which made it pretty easy.
It’s a nightmare to to do online - you have to buy the product at RRP and then request a price beat after, and they refund the difference. Have price matched a few times in store, it can take awhile sometimes, but haven’t been turned down.
