Finally Cut-off from YouTube Turkey. Anybody Else?

My YoutTube Premium subscription failed to renew on its own yesterday. I went ot fix it today and I'm no longer able to purchase premium with my google account, instead I hit a page that says YouTube is unable to verify my country :(

EDIT: In case anyone finds this in future with the same issue I was able to work around it. You can renew through Payments and Subscriptions in iPhone settings. Not sure whether it will continue to renew, or if it will last out the month, but will update here either way.

    Desktop use Firefox and Ublock Origin plugin
    AndroidTV use Smarttube
    I'd prefer to pay a fair price for YouTube Premium but they kept increasing the price
    Now I see NZ$22.99⁠/⁠month (however Google search AI says "YouTube Premium in New Zealand costs $17.99 per month for an individual plan"). What do you see?

      i would agrees with you , we are struggling to buy food forget about paying for subscription . Things are so tough , i am sure youtube would make money even if its subscription was say 2 or few $ a month just like how much it costs in my native country , they are still making money why not Nz i dont understand . the only option we have is use sff linux with brave or firefox with ublock and sponser block etc .

      I use YouTube on my phone to play kids story to help my kids getting sleep. Should I get one Android phone to use smarttube?

        Smarttube is for AndroidTV, for android phones use Youtube Revanced

        If you have an adblocker on your phone, open YouTube in a browser, or use the Brave browser as someone else suggested.
        I started doing this after they started inserting an ad anytime the video was paused.

            @baishishun: Additionally, to add a website URL to your iPhone homepage, open the website in Safari, tap the Share icon, scroll down, and select Add to Home Screen. That was you can have a YouTube icon and one less step to open, it does overwrite your current tab but it's rarely an issue for me.

    My Youtube premium subscription through iTune India only costs about NZ$3.70 a month (₹195). You just need to open an Indian account and keep buying iTune gift card through Amazon India.

      Turgame App Store cards. I managed to get it sorted by renewing through Apple subscriptions instead of YouTube itself.

    NZ YT Family Plan still going strong. $40/6 = $6.60 ea. per month. Though they're supposed to be cracking down on accounts that are not in the same household.

    We got thrown off Ukraine a couple of months back and been playing with vanced since. Still sceptical about linking it to my main YouTube though as don't want a ban. I wouldn't mind paying but $40 a month for a family plan is a lot. If tidal ever kick me out of Nigeria or Spotify boot me out of turkey I might change my tune and use YouTube music which would make it more cost effective.

    Sharing my turkish yt acc with a friend in the UK. Youtube detected he wasn't part of the household I joked to him to appeal it and funnily enough he got access back to YT premium family 😂

    The amount of people who don't know how to block ads on Youtube or Spotify is too damn high. I read comments like this everywhere, 9Gag, Reddit, Cheapies, various forums.

    Maybe I should create a side business and just charge people to do this stuff for them. Things like, install custom ROMs, hide root from apps, modding apps to bypass licenses, and of course block ads on Youtube and Spotify, etc.

    Not a bad business idea actually, considering how many people are willing to waste their money paying $20/month just to block ads. My services will be a one-time fee.

      YouTube premium is easier to setup, use, and maintain across my ageing family members and their ageing devices than Stremio/Revanced etc are.

        Same here. Comes down to ease of use for the people on my family account (86yr old for example) + $6.60/month seems a reasonable price to pay (everyone just gave me $80 at the start of the year).

        It takes literally 2 minutes or less to setup Youtube Revanced on Android, no need to deal with the billing stuff, which takes time too. I mean, some people are going through the trouble of connecting to Turkey VPN just to get a discount. All of that would have taken at least a good 5~10 minutes. Revanced is literally a quick download and install, done.

        On desktop PC it takes even less time to install Ublock Origins. Objectively speaking, it's actually quicker and easier.

          Do you have issue casting with Revanced? I seemed to not able to cast eventhough chromecast device seemed detected

            @spam: Are you trying to cast audio or video? IIRC casting doesn't work with Revanced without some kind of workaround. I know you can cast to Smarttube if you have that installed.

              @NovaAlpha: Forgot to mention, there's actually a few variations of "Revanced" Youtube. They have different names and the one I currently use is RVX.

              There are different Revanced Managers to use, which not only finds you updated Revanced Youtube versions to download, but also Revanced patches for e.g. Reddit, Spotify (although this doesn't work now) and other apps.

              Revanced Manager Plus (com.revanced.net.revancedmanager) and Revanced Manager (app.revanced.manager.flutter) both work.

              There's also this and it works well with Shizuku:

    Mine was cut off as well, "subscription cancelled" with Appstore

    But it let me log back into my turkish account and just hit renew

    I was on a gamsgo (account sharing) sub for 7 months, but google detected and cancelled that one with the money not recoverable by gamsgo.

    So I finally figured out Revanced on Android phone and smarttubenext on the TV. Wife briefly complained about the latter, but got used to it.
