Nice one, this looks like a mid-range unit?

Correct, its no OLED like I have in my lounge but a great option for the bedroom with the same webOS system. To compare to the price for a slightly newer purchase @ Harvey Norman currently at $1349.00 it was a no brainer for me. I could've purchased 2x and saved $$$

  • not for $599 your way better off spending like $49 more and getting a brand new 55inch JVC tv running android and uses QLED
i have one and it looks much better then this lg tv

I'm not 100% certain but I think this might be the Oceania version of the US model UA77, both were released at the same time and appear to have almost identical internal specs, in fact I think they are identical the only difference I can see is the configuration of the inputs on the back, they both have the same inputs they're just arranged differently on each model. There's also a UA85 model sold in the Middle East that appears to be very similar to the other 2 as well. It's so confusing, I wish they'd just stick to one model number worldwide.

RTings review of the UA77 https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/ua77

    Their conclusion was -

The LG UA77 is a bad TV overall. It's best-suited for use in a light controlled room, as it looks bad in a dark room due its terrible black levels, but it can't overcome glare in a bright room. It has poor motion handling that makes it a disappointing choice for watching sports or gaming, despite its low input lag. On the flip side its smart interface is easy to use and has a great selection of apps, it has good low-quality content smoothing, great for streaming content, and its wide viewing angle means you don't have to fight over the best spot in front of the screen.

It's 60hz with no HDMI 2.1, if you're wanting something for modern gaming this ain't it.

    • Personally not using mine for gaming, that is what the LG 65" OLED C5 is for. Have set up in master bedroom now with plenty of natural light and looks good with picture setting set to Vivid. Will report back how it looks at night. So far happy with the price paid and extra 5% discount for being an AA Member :)
