Only once have I ever heard of staff feedback stopping a restructure. Damage was done though as attrition started immediately and it restructured itself as no one felt like they were safe
Not surprising. They are still the same as they were years ago, even though the market they serve has changed dramatically
it's a difficult market with consoles going mainly digital (unless you pay extra for a disc drive)
Ive only ever shopped instore at eb about 5 or 6 times and staff were great.
Me too - I've never had poor service at EB Games.
I think we all were thinking this when they had their recent 30% storewide sale.
I went to several different EB Game stores over Xmas NYs and they dont sell many disc games more, but sell lots of expensive toy and franchise merchandise.
Modern day Blockbuster Video type scenario

Who would have thought that EB Games NZ would have such influence ;-)
Well GameStop owns them so probably more linked than you'd think. Maybe all that share price has finally worn off 🤣

Was it GameStop that had all those shenanigans with shorting etc?
Confirmed news about all the EB Games stores closing down in NZ on 31st with the distribution centres closing Feb 28th. It was bound to happen someday but I didn’t think it would happen so soon. I feel for the staff and will miss these stores. Has anyone seen any instore closing down sales? As their online website has removed all their products.
It will be gone.
'Consultation' is just the legal requirement they need to be seen to go through before a decision is finalised.
I don't ever recall seeing a company change it's mind once this starts.
