I am looking at getting a Kindle Unlimited Membership for my partner.
Any tips or things to be mindful of?
All seems straight forward, just wouldn’t want to miss out on something and had not asked 🤪

If it is something your partner has said they would like, then I'd say just go for it. Its very easy - you just subscribe (pay monthly, or at least we did when we had a subscription), and read as much as you like, assuming you can find things you want to read :-)
I would note that how much they get out of it, would very much depend on whether they are a 'quantity' or 'quality' reader.
If the former, and they never re-read literature, then I think Kindle unlimited works really well, and many people are of a mind that life is too short to read things you've already read - I am somewhat sympathetic to that view!
On the other hand, if they are a 'quality' reader, and like to re-read (some) literature, perhaps even more than once, then 'owning' the books means that you can be sure to have them available whenever you want. Many people are of a mind that life is too short to read anything but the finest literature (however that may be determined), and re-reading it is a great pleasure - I am sympathetic to that view too!
Personally, I maintain a 'reading list' that I add to whenever I hear about a book / series that sounds like something I would enjoy. I sort it by my intended reading order, and periodically re-sort as I like. Currently it is probably a decade or more long! It does mean I never have the issue of trying to decide what I'm going to read next - I either take the next thing on my list, or if not in the mood for that, then the one after etc. I also make sure that the next few things on my list are ready to go and available to add to my Kindle in advance, so there is never an issue with finishing a book just after laying down at night, and not having my next in line ready to go.
