Hello Fresh Tips?

I am thinking of getting Hello Fresh for the first time due to hectic schedule of the family in the next couple of weeks. I have heard nightmares about cancellations, etc so was wondering if anybody can share any insights on how to have a better experience? ie use Wise card and only top up with needed $$ etc? I only intend to use max 3 weeks but if it's a nightmare to cancel then have to look at other options.

    It's been ages since I had Hello Fresh but I would just use a diposable Wise card number.
    Once the payment has been debited you can freeze or delete the card.
    Pretty sure they won't send you future meals if they can't debit your card.

    You can cancel via their website once logged into your account with an active subscription. I just did it last week and took me 20 seconds.

    I agree with BigCheese - I always use a virtual Wise card for these types of things - that way they can argue I didn't cancel, but they can't just take the payment without me explicitly allowing them.

    Don't use your real cell # if you can, I can't remember if it's actually needed for account verification. I got a tonne of calls from their marketing team for months.

  • The couple of times we've tried HelloFresh recently it has been awful. They're really cheapening out on ingredients - for example one meal should have had two cans of tomatoes in it, but they did tomato paste + water instead. And they've replaced all of their recyclable aluminum cans with (non-recyclable) TetraPaks - more crap to landfill.

    We've been really impressed with My Food Bag on the other hand. Not cheap. But genuinely delicious meals that are better than what we'd cook ourselves.
