Cheapest Mobile Plan for Kids Smart Watch

I'm getting my kid a smart watch for xmas, with calling and gps etc. It requires an active sim for this. I'm on the Kogan large plan for my own mobile.

Could anyone recommend the cheapest way to get this going? I don't mind if it has no or very limited outbound calling as long as I can call/txt them.

Worth checking out their watches too.

  • There's a Warehouse Mobile pay-as-you-go plan at $4 per feature, so you'd be looking at $4 per month just for texting ability. If you need data, that's another $4. (Also a $9 combo plan) Don't use them myself, so it's not a recommendation, but it's there to delve into:- https://www.warehousemobile.co.nz/pricing

    • Could just use their casual rates for occasional calls by the look of it, 16c/min.

If it's only incoming you want the easiest thing is any prepaid sim and load $10 which lasts 12 months. You just have to be careful to shut off things like data as it will cost the entire $10 very quickly if you don't
