New NZ rewards card launched CASHPOINTS

https://cashpoints.co.nz/

Herald article says there are 7 participating retailers already, but only 4 showing on the website so far. I assume they will try to grow that.

Couldn't see any referral or join up bonus yet. Might pay to wait a few days before joining in case they do something like that.

There is a Herald article about it, but it's paywalled

Cashpoints, a new loyalty programme created by an AA Smartfuel co-founder, has launched in New Zealand with seven initial retailer partners and aims to reach 500,000 registered customers in its first year.

The scheme is designed for simplicity: 100 Cashpoints equal $1, redeemable instantly at participating retailers, with no minimum spend required.

Retailers initially offering Cashpoints include Super Liquor, Mix & Match, Tile Space, and Hireace, with Pita Pit, Pet Depot, and Care Box joining next month.

The programme meets strong demand for instant, flexible rewards and appeals especially as Kiwis look for value during tougher economic conditions; 80% prefer multi-partner over single-retailer loyalty.

Cashpoints aims to be accessible for both large and small businesses, offering scalable, affordable fees and the ability for retailers to create tailored offers for their customers.

      Super Liquor
      Travel agency Mix & Match
      Tile Space
      Hireace
      Pita Pit
      Pet Depot
      Gifting service Care Box

Meh. I don't recall visiting any of those except Super Liquor (probably been in at some point), and Pita Pit (been in at least once, probably at least fifteen years ago).

Not worth it for now, unless you happen to spend an inordinate amount with one or more of them.

      • I think there will be many people in that boat. And yet they are hoping for half a million signups…

        • Do not underestimate the power of "free" alcohol.

And PitaPit will likely gain them at least a few. Assuming it's a better offer than whatever I assume they have as a frequent customer deal.

But otherwise same. I am personally not going to bother with a bunch of retailers I've not used in years.

      • Mix and Match is House of Travel so between them and Super Liquor I suspect that's where 90% of customers would be from.
I can't see any point in signing up unless you were a frequent customer of either of them and it actually made a difference. Likely they'll do the usual ploy and provide discounts only for those with the loyalty card, as a way to get people signed up.
