First up - this is China Airlines - based in Taiwan, not Air China, and is a far superior airline. (I've flown both long haul).
As a result, it'll transit in Brisbane and Taipei, generally.

I've just flown on this route as economy, and cost me 2800 return. It's a long long trip, but at least you avoid the shitehole south of Canada. The food was excellent, and they fed uou lots. Taiwan airport was great. Service and speed was absolutely acceptable. In flight entertainment was pretty shit. It had a very very limited range of shows and movies. This is thr first time in years ive noticed such a poor range.
We had a few short delays and they kept us upto date. The baggage drop was fast if uou checked in online. For 1 person picking seats meant 4x95 dollars on top of flight - which is a serious shock. And i picked aisle or middle, the window seats were about 4x 30 more. They give you 2x 23kg checked bags. You have 7kg max on carry on.
All in all, I'd rather not have flown for so long and paid so much but c'est la vie.
