Haha my first thoughts too…bad timing for those who got a free pair, incl me, but a great deal!
Anyone have personal feedback on the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro?
I've had the buds 3 pro for a couple of weeks now, usually use headphones.
Haven't used buds since the original buds, got the buds 3 pro as it came free with the S25U.
So far, so good. Pretty impressed and been using them daily now, a lot more convenient than headphones.
ANC/Transparency is pretty good, sound is decent, call quality is good. Also has handy voice commands, like "change song", volume up and down.
The only slight annoyance for me, is the right ear bud on ambient mode when putting on, you get anc feedback, you can either set ANC to off or put the right bud in fairly quick to avoid this.
Looking online, people were having issues with the initial release however, it seems like most things have been fixed. Maybe worth while if purchasing to check manufacturing date, cant remember the exact month/year but anything after 2024 should be good.
If I lost them, I'd purchase again.
Thanks for the review, I am still on the OG buds too and they are slowly showing their age.
I think I will grab a set.
Have you used them for gym, running or workout?
Yup, use at gym, the stock tips fit me perfectly so have no issues of them falling out. They come with a small and a large with the mediums fitted in the box.
Use Shokz open run pro 2s for running, cycling.
@Lieutenantdave: Yeah i use Shokz Openfit Air at the mo for gym.
I nearly lost my Buds2 Pro at the gym
We have a set of each waiting to decide to keep them or sell them on. I'm leaning towards keeping the pros but don't think I'll get on with the lack of silicon tips on the buds 3 so thinking we may move those on. I'm still running my buds 2 that I got with my S22 and while I don't love the sound quality I'm pretty deep in to the ecosystem now and the switching between phone and tablet is pretty handy. I might start taking those to work or demote them to ear protection where it doesn't matter if they get beaten up.
I have the Pros
I think they are OK, nothing special… sure as shit would not pay full price for them.
however I am highly biased as I think all earbuds suck… can get a much nicer easier sound by spending that much on headphones :P
I'm the same much prefer headphones, buds do come in handy sometimes though.
I have a pair of lovely Bose QC headphones but those live at home or come with me when traveling.
I walk to work and buds are a lot easier to toss in my pocket and use during breaks.
So i think the world is bug enough for both too.
@Fox419: Exact same thoughts, headphones for home and travel. Buds for convenience and everything inbetween.
@Lieutenantdave: My biggest gripe with buds is the multi device stuff. While of you have everything on a Samsung account the buds do swap quite well, going between a laptop at work, then personal phone if someone voice notes you and taking calls on a work phone, switching js a pain. I've ended up with a pair of wired buds for the first 2 where I can just unplug them from one device and kn to another and they just work without any faff.
I like headphones if working from home but my xm4s don't see much use in the office and I lean in the cheapo kz earbuds there. I don't mind the xm4s but they hate something about my office and keep cutting out, then they also have the same issues mentioned above.
This is a really good price. The buds3 pro is awesome.
Is it worth upgrading to 3 if I've already got the Pro 2s?
Have a look at these reviews on reddit:

Buds 3 Pro has better water rating, slightly better sound quality, AI features, custom EQ, slightly better ANC and passive isolation.
Been there done that when I broke my Pro 2's…… The Pro 3's are better. They have better ANC, better Ambient functionality, and fit well etc. The controls are different but work pretty well. I mostly use mine for hearing assist through the Ambient functions and I think they're an improvement over the 2's. I do wear them at work a lot also so I can receive calls etc and the ANC is very good. I work in close proximity to running aircraft and the buds ANC do a great job of muffling them to a bearable level for me. During a call if it's a noisy environment such as machines running etc the person at the other end of the call hears me perfectly without any noise interference. I must say I'm impressed with that.
Slightly off topic but re the last line of the OP’s post, I’ve never considered if there is a difference between NZ market and parallel import headphones (unlike say phones with different bands etc) - are there any things to watch out for or is that just some sort of warranty/support issue?
Probably just a warranty/support issue. I'm not aware of any regional differences in headphones and can't think of a reason why one would exist outside of colorways.
I have bluetooth issues with a pair I imported from the USA where the right will only connect to my Dodge Ram and won't play anything but Kid Rock.
😆
Any chance of a restock in the buds pro?
Dude, you're ruining it for those selling their free ones 😂
