Pre-launch Offer: Riddara RD6 Pro (315 kW Electric Ute) $69,990 +ORC @ Nordeast (Giltrap Group)

30

The Riddara RD6 is Geely's ute offering. Geely owns Volvo, Lotus & Polestar.

First AWD pure electric ute on the market at the moment, and I imagine will largely compete with the Plug in Hybrid BYD shark 6.

  • 1030 kg payload
  • 315 kW AWD
  • 0-100 in 4.5 sec
  • 73 kWh LFP battery (LFP is the most durable tech)
  • 3000 kg tow rating
  • 360 km WLTP range
  • 815mm wading depth
  • Surround camera (which also looks partially under the vehicle)
  • 6 kW vehicle to load
  • Unibody construction (more interior space than body on frame construction, but flatdeck trays / service bodies etc are not possiable)
  • 15.4" central screen
  • 70 Liter Funk
  • 48 L under seat storage
  • $69,990 + ORC

Being unibody, and with he relatively short range (it is offered with larger batteries in other markets), mean this model will not be for everybody.

Really hope the go with the styling package in the top image of the below article and ditch the Triangle wheels & immediate grill from the launch event shown in the video.

Launch deal:

  • $1000 deposit contribution (applied as deduction from final purchase price)
  • 15,000km RUC (worth $1140)
  • 3 year / 60,000 km worth of servicing.
  • Metallic Paint ($950)

  • The Riddara RD6 is Geely's ute offering.

I found this way more funny than I should have. It sounds like nonsense.

Geely wanted the brand name "Radar" but it seams they were unable to secure the trademark, and somehow decided Riddara was the best alternative.

That name alone is going to cost them a lot of sales.

      • I don't think this will sell well regardless of what it is called.

  • I honestly see a new car brand out of China once every 2 months.

Greely alone has just launched three brands in NZ (in addition to their established brands like Volvo and Polestar).

Zeekr (7X is most notable, NZ pricing yet to be released, but in Aust it is very cheap for the impressive spec sheet)
      Radarra (this ute)
      Farizon (Commercial style vans)

And there are heaps of brands we don't get in NZ. Xping would be most notable as they are sold in Aussie.
