Looking buy a large capacity Washing machine

Hi team,

Moved into a new home and it feels like the right time to upgrade my beaten up Samsung 7.5kg front loader which is getting very temperamental.

Would be happy to pay up to $750 for a new or Refurbished machine.

This one from Trade Depot is $499 delivered for a 9kg machine with an option to extend the warranty to 3 years for $49

Is it that cheap for a reason or worth a punt? Nothing similar in size comes close to that price.

My first thought is that, for a $500 washing machine, it would seem very 'reasonable' to expect it to last at least three years, and therefore the extra $50 is paying for something that the CGA gives you anyway.

One possible benefit of paying the $50 might be that you wouldn't have to argue your case, but that just seems lazy to me :-)

good luck with tradedepot if you require any sort of service from them. I've always found it difficult to try source parts from them

  • My ex mil had an old commercial machine.

The thing was great, loud and probably (profanity) your clothes a bit but boy it was a asolidnwasher

  • Thank you for the feedbac. Any alternatives available or places you would recommend to get refub models?

Hi , We have a family of 7 so our washing machine gets a hard life… The last one we bought and still have was a Daewoo which I dont think they stock any more . I would have no hesitation in buying any appliance from the warehouse .. Our freezers have been passed on and have lasted for years . I wous seriously look at there 8kg washing machines very reasonable price when they have a white ware special .

    • Thank you!

Unfortunitely they dont have much options for larger front loaders.

I think right now it's between the three above. I feel like getting a new 9kg Vogue from TD may be the best option.

With refurbs there is always thr concern over the limited warranty
