Recommendation on Robot Vacuum Cleaner (Under $1500)

Hi All,

We are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does everything: mop and vacuum with self cleaning station. Preferably with LIDAR. Price below $1500. Should I go with Ecovacs or Roborock?

Was just looking in to this for my parents over the weekend.
I suggested the below, I have the earlier version with Lidar and without the bin and it's been amazing for the last 4 years.
I doubt anything could be twice or three times as good for the price….

  • Heard good reviews about Eufy ones.

NL and PBTech currently doing some deal on it

    • You might want to wait Eufy Price smash tomorrow night.

  • Ive had a few previously and they were pretty average to bad. Eufy , Lefant etc.

Ended up getting a Robock Q5 Pro and its been amazing in the 8 months since purchase and price / feature wise pretty damn good. I bought it from Amazon Au

From me I say go for a Roborok one. With your Budget you'll be able to get a really nice Roborock one.

  • Don't get an Ecovac one. The software is terrible

    • ^ this, and their customer service standard response is to "sorry we can't help you, buy a new one"

    • Do you have it?

      • Yeah we have an N8. It loses it's map constantly. I wish we had got a Roborock

      • Yeah we had one too. Note the "had", as it was only just out of warranty when it developed a fault with a bump sensor. Due to lack of support network and parts availability their answer was literally to buy a new one. Other robot support agents in NZ wouldn't touch it either. I got the cheapest Xiaomi one with lidar to replace it with and the mapping/sensing has been worlds better than ecovacs (it has never losts its way or place; not even once, whereas the Ecovacs was continually loosing where it was or shifting the map reference points etc). Only downside is the battery size is not as large, but at a fraction of the price its been one of the best things to come from the Ecovacs purchase.
With a business model that supports dumping reasonably new products which have failed and zero customer support, Ecovacs is one brand I actively go out of my way now to avoid.

    • I have x2 omni, haven't had the map issues you speak of. Software is okay, could be better but again haven't had major issues yet.

  • Highly recommend Roborock or Mi. Best part is cheap accessories from Ali/Temu.

If you want mop feature as well, make sure you get the one with rotating pads.

This one should fit all your requirements. https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/HOMRBK0060/Roborock-Q-Revo-…

  • We have thick carpets would prefer one with higher suction power. Eufy Omni will not be suitable because the low suction power. Roborock vs Dreame?

  • After doing a bit of research we are definitely going for Roborock. We would perfer current model. Anyone has much experience with Q revo C vs outgoing model S8 MaxV Ultra? Advantage of AI detection in S8 to avoid objects?
