I'm guessing this will be a good option compared to a Wise card, with the benefits that you get. It's good to have options.

    • It's a good backup to Wise but way more expensive to use.

What are the costs as compared to Wise that you are referring to?

Is it just the high currency conversion fee, or are other fees high as well?

Currency Conversion Fee 5.95% of the transaction value.-_-!

    • If you havent loaded the currency of the transaction onto your card in advance, eg you loaded Euro but trying a USD transaction

I checked the normal currency rate, also much higher than wise. The only advantage is the flight delay profit.

There are some things money can't buy; for everything else, there's Mastercard. :D

  • But fr doe revolut is better right? :)

  • On a similar program I heard you could find any already delayed (by >2 hours) flight at an airport you are flying out of, register that flight, get lounge pass. Lounge pass was not directly linked to the flight you registered, only your name, so were guaranteed lounge access. Obviously easier at bigger airports more likely to have long delays. Assume it is the same for this one but interested if anyone has experience.

    • I've used this - the lounge checks the boarding pass matches the voucher and passport. All three need to say the same things

      • Do my companions have to have their own cards as well to use this benefit?

        • +1

I have this card and it asks for companion name but not whether they have a Cash Passport card.
My flights haven't been delayed by two hours yet so haven't tried it though.

So like you can sign up to the card and get access to these lounges?

to be eligible for the lounge access, does the flight ticket have to be purchased via this card?

    • No, can add any flight

  • I mean its a Mastercard vs Visa which both Wise and Revolut uses. Does this card have a annual fee? Whats the catch?

Seems like the service has been discontinued.

Flight delay is still included although Cash Passport no longer has a link to registration. You just need to go to the MasterCard site and register there directly:
      https://fdp.mastercard.com/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

I tested it and successfully registered my Cash Passport card with a number of upcoming flights.

Just be aware only 4 flights are included with the Cash Passport card, even if the flight is not delayed, once registered it's counted as one of the 4 flights. Best strategy is to only register the flight once you know it's going to be delayed for over 2 hours to not waste a registration slot. You can however remove the registered flight anytime before the original scheduled departure time to clear the slot (which I've done with my test registrations).
