  • This would depend on whether your bank who issued the credit card classed the transaction as a purchase or a cash advance.
I would say it’s a cash advance and would thus incur higher interest charges but you would need to confirm this with them to be sure.

    • Thanks @bigcheese. I'm with TSB, anyone have any idea about them??

      • No idea on TSB. But it is classified as cash advance with Westpac for sure. I once used apple pay to top up and forgot I had credit card as my default card. Next statement on Westpac showed it as cash advance and got stung with the interest rate. Luckily the top up was small so that's fine.

Maybe just try a $1 or so of top if unsure.

      • Tried it with TSB, it's treated as a cash advance if you can even make the transaction in the first place. Got a call requesting verification since they think Revolut or international transfers are likely to be scams.

    • No, it shows as a regular purchase on your credit card, not a cash advance.

      • It depends on what your bank classes it as.
As @ace310 mentioned it was classed as a cash advance with Westpac.
Different banks may well treat the transaction differently. In your case, it's treated as a purchase.

Which bank is your credit card with?

        • TSB Platinum Mastercard

          • @ttt: You're not getting cashback rewards by topping up your Revolut account with your TSB card.

  • Just top up with $1? Then you're only paying 20% interest on $1

  • I tried both prezzy cards and bonfire cards on revolt and wise. Neither worked

    • Prezzy Cards used to work if you added them to Google Pay/Wallet first
