It wasn't even that long ago I remember these blocks being regularly under $6.

Industry experts told Reuters that West African cocoa production, down for two straight seasons, is forecast to fall another 10% in 2025/26 despite some weather improvements. Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cameroon—accounting for over two-thirds of global supply—continue to struggle with shifting weather, aging trees, disease, smuggling, and small-scale gold mining. This latest 10% decline reverses a 5% increase predicted in May and June. With stocks sharply depleted during the 2023/24 season’s large global deficit, dealers warn that replenishment may not materialize. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast farmers reported on July 7 adequate soil moisture promoting strong flowering for the upcoming main crop, despite recent below-average rainfall.
