New York city accommodation

Hi team. We're heading to New York in a few months. Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced accommodation?

Thanks

  • My partner and I stayed at the Millennium Downtown and thought it was perfect. It's being renovated so discounted as a result, but you can book the already renovated rooms, and the location is incredible - we looked directly over the World Trade Center and Hudson River area. But yeah, Manhattan is expensive. Booked on AirBNB and paid around $1000usd for three nights. Don't forget you have to pay a 'resort tax' on top of the advertised prices.

  • We travelled in June 2024 and stayed at the Pod Hotel in Times Square. However, Times Square is not a cheap location!
Found it to be well priced for the location and had very large rooms. Paid $950 for 4 nights for 2 people. We stayed at the Times Square one and there was a small supermarket with delivery around the corner where we got some of our meals.
Keep in mind, this hotel chain caters to travellers who want to party etc. so lots of hotel organised events centred around drinking and loud music. Never bothered us though as our rooms weren't near the bar/restaurant.

    • Sorry, deli autocorrected to delivery!

  • Thank you to all those that have shared their experiences and thoughts. We're currently looking at options.

Anyone else, feel free to add more options and thoughts. We're pretty open.

  • +1

I was there for 6 weeks, and stayed in Jersey City instead. Was cheaper and I would just jump on the PATH Train. Was about 12 minutes to get to World Trade Centre.
