nowadays, lab grown diamond is better. Cheaper, looks nicer. But it's usually not this expensive, it can be imported from china for less than $700. I sometimes do it for friends.

    • for the same size and clarity etc?

      • yes, VVS, 1.2ct, with 18k ring, it can be less than $700 when it's on big national promo. it will still be less than $1000 in other times anyway, so it will not trigger the gst.

        • wow good to know thanks, do you have to live there or visit to buy the ring or can you just buy it online?

          • @ObeyWilliam: No, I bought it online in China and send it to nz. Its similar to you shop when buying from the US

Can you give us a link

          • @Steezus: I just bought it from www.taobao.com.
Better buy it from the factories/labs

There are hundreds of them in Henan province. The price has gone down a lot compared to what it was last year

            • @tomgeniewang: Any example of a factory you have found is reliable to deal with / sells genuine rings/stone. Can you link one from taobao?

    • Yes it's $700, but is it IGI certified?

  • This was marked as OOS within 15 minutes of being posted. Either it was a single ring, or was never genuine in the first place. Either way it probably shouldn't have been posted here but in -> low stock thread

      Hi Chunder,

We just wanted to clarify that the “Out of Stock” label you saw was due to a technical issue on the Cheapies.nz platform, not from our side. The product was available on our website at the time of posting and continues to be in stock. We also noticed the OOS label disappeared and reappeared intermittently, which further confirms the issue was on the deal listing page.

If you’re still interested, we’d be more than happy to honor the original deal.
Just reach out to us directly.

No, it wasn't, I checked at the time. And it is not available in stock right now because the linked page literally says "sold out" when selecting any of the options available.
