China Southern: Auckland return to Beijing, China from $430 Return, Shanghai $494 Return (Feb-May) @ Beat That Flight

90

Been trying to find flights to China for under $500, so set my scripts running with a directive, and wow, they struggled! Anyway, after much effort, I've managed to prove there are SOME flights next year to China on China Southern, for less than a return flight from Christchurch to Tauranga, listen up Air New Zealand!(bookings.beatthatflight.com.au).

Anyway, seems like the cheapest range is between Feb and May. There are tickets similarly priced, I just capped it at $500 for my goal.

9-16 March showed at the <$500 price just now

Cheap flights for the Chinese Grand Prix. Bettervalue than the Australian GP

  • Dont use Airnz…. Always delay

  • +1

    prices showing over 1k+

  • I think it's a problem with your program, which displayed an abnormal ticket price. In fact, no tickets priced lower than 1k could be found.

I did see the discounted tickets but they sold out quickly.

  • I’d be keen to hear people’s thoughts on taking a young family to Beijing or Shanghai for a week to ten days. I’d love to experience a different culture with the kids, but not sure where would be the best place to aim for.

    • Big Cities will be more foreigner friendly, try "small city" around Shanghai, such as Suzhou, Yangzhou,Hangzhou

Absolutely do it. We went to Asia for 6 months with our young daughter and would absolutely do it again if we could make it work. Try to teach them some words too, the locals loved "hello" and "thank you" in their own language from a toddler.

Where doesn't matter too much, look for some images or articles. Google maps is good for looking around quickly. Pick sensibly and you'll be fine, most places are just locals living their lives and won't bother you beyond wanting to touch your kids hair (blonde in our case) or have a chat.

  • Off topic but with these china airlines like this and china eastern.

Do they do a blanket expensive price for the distant future then lower it as you get closer to the date.

E.g. I’m after a one way from Seoul to Auckland next march.

It’s about 1k with china eastern but closer dates for the next couple months is about 500ish.

    • Jetstar is your friend for this route (350-600 is a good price, one way
