I haven’t had Tegel before. Which one would you recommend trying first (NI)?

    • I prefer the tenders over the portions, the tenders have no bones. Can't remember which, but one is kinda spicy

I had to edit this because I got my states wrong, and I got some downvotes (you guys are low-key cruel), my apologies! 😞

The Chicken burgers are super juicy and big. You'll get about 6 in a pack, husband is a big eater and he struggles to eat 2.

You can also have it as crumbed chicken over a meal. Don't need to have them as burgers.
If you're not into spicy stuff, stay away from the Nashville ones. Louisiana has a mild kick, you will notice if air fried or baked. If deep fried, you won't.

went too gangster on those and now dont have room for the tenders πŸ˜‚

      • Three options as I see it:

        1. Buy a bigger freezer
        2. Pig out on the chicken portions this week to make room for the tenders before the offer ends on Sunday.
        3. Do both the above and fit even more tenders in.
        • decided to go tetris mode on the freezer, got two packs in, should be able to wrangle another two by sunday πŸ˜‚

These used to be good when they first came out, I always picked them up on special.

I feel like the quality has got worse because they stopped the normal price point.

I've read that quite a few times on cheapies over the last couple of years. I purchase these and find they're really good for a quick and tasty meal (chicken burgers). Can you tell me how the quality has gone down? I was late to the party. What's changed about them? They must have been exceptionally good when they first came out.

      • I guess like most food products when they started it was great quality and I couldn't get enough of them.
They were a bit pricey, but I would stock up whenever they went on special.

I noticed that they dropped the retail price of maybe went on special more often (?) (maybe because they noticed the sales numbers when it's on special), but the drop in quality was significant. Tastes nowhere near as good, still good enough to keep a pack in the freezer when stuck for dinner, but not as a treat.

        • Thanks for the replies. Can anyone be more specific about what has been lost quality wise?
The (free-range) chicken is straight breast (not minced/blended) the coating is thick and has a good crunch with the Louisiana, and the Nashville has the added bonus of surprisingly good chilli heat to them. The portion sizes seem generous and they cook quickly and well in an air fryer.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but am legitimately wanting to know what's been lost.

I have found them very variable. I try to only get the nashville ones as they are the only ones with flavour to them, the others might as well be just bread on them.

I remember when I first got them when lockdown was a thing and I tried them all and they were a great KFC alternative. Now they are just meh, its good enough.
