WOF up for renewal in July, just when I was about to buy one of these I got the feeling that I might have one already, checked my inbox and sure enough there was the code I bought in advance back last November from a deal posted here. Glad I don't clean out my inbox very often.

I bought 3 last year and parents took 2.
Good to see now they extended the expiry to 3 years.
Might buy a few to stock up

  • Damn, even with the discount VTNZ are expensive. I paid $30 for my WoF last month.

    • If you have a newish car cheapest wof possible is the way to go. If you have an older car like mine, it's just candy for scam mechanics. I'd rather pay the premium and not have to deal with scam mechanics again.
I know my cars. I've had the pleasant experience of knowing I'm being scammed just to phone NZTA and get told they can't do anything because they aren't there. But did confirm scam mechanic didn't put a failed result online.
Wasted the WoF fee and went immediately to VTNZ and got a pass. Just not worth the hassle with how little protection consumers get in this country when it comes to WoF

      • I have an old car that needs a WoF every 6 months. The place I took it to are highly rated. I needed a new tire which made sense as I had the other 3 replaced a couple of years ago and the price they charged was completely reasonable. The previous WoF there, also with a discount voucher from Grabone, it went through without needing anything and they told me things I needed to keep an eye on but didn't need doing at the time or weren't covered by the WoF (like a slow oil leak).

  • Yes. They are the most expensive. The executives and management must be creaming it. They are having these vouchers because they are losing in the market. I will go elsewhere. Times are tough and be mindful on where you spend your money.

  • Can you do a COF with this ?

    • No.
      Standard car WOF only

      • Thanks mate
