I swear this is the most beloved food item on cheapies haha. Might get some tomorrow.

Anyone cares to share your most favourite way to cook these?

Sear in a pan for 1 minute, then pour in 100mm of water. Cover and let it fry-steam for 7 minutes. Remove the lid and continue frying for another 2 minutes until the water fully evaporates.

      • Cheers will try that

I do this too! An entire bag fits perfectly in a 30cm fry pan if you place it around the outside of the pan like a sunflower and put the last 5 in the middle.

      • Bonus points- dissolve some cornstarch into the water before adding to the pan. You'll end up with a crispy lacy crust on the bottom.

      • potstickers!

      • Interesting. I steam, then sear.
        Do you cook from frozen?

        • yes, from freezer

      • so when u sear for 1 min,u dont put any oil in the pan?

    • water in pan up to 1/3 of the dumpling, heat up with another pan over top to boil/steam until water evaporated, then pan fry w oil for few mins to make outside crisp. best way

      • Mean! How did you know their specials for next week?

  • Never tried . I've always seen much love for them amongst fellow cheapies

Which flavour is generally the best regarded one to buy?

Chicken and coriander is my surprise fave

    • Yeah the chicken and coriander is good, the vegetarian is also surprisingly good though not stocked at all supers

I always advise my friends who aren't familiar with Chinese dumplings to try Aunty Dai's pork and chives first. If you are inclined towards coriander, then pork and coriander or chicken and coriander tends to be our family favourite. Our Asian palate doesn't find pork and sweet corn appealing at all but I know some friends who thinks it's amazing. Each to their own I suppose.

    • Pork and coriander is my favourite. Chicken and coriander is good too

i notice these dont really working putting them in air fryer, i steamed them then put in airfryer and they were a little better

    • Pan Fry / Steaming is definitely the better way to go.
Air Fryers dry them out too much IMO

  • Anyone know how many dumplings in a 600gm packet?

    • 28 which they claim is worth 4 serves but only serves myself twice😅
