They said direct flight starts fro late Sep this year. Anyone has any idea when it starts selling?
When Vietjet starts selling ticket from AKL to Ho Chi Ming?

Heh, I posted yesterday that the Aus routes are on sale to Vietnam, but it only goes up to September in that deal range (https://www.beatthatflight.com.au/index.php/2025/05/16/vietj…).
But hopefully that's a good sign that in a month or so they should be hitting that next range?

I've flown them domestically in Vietnam and wouldn't be super keen to use them for a long haul…

upright small hard seats? and indifferent attitude to schedule?

Totally worth it paying $300 one way vs $800 on Airnz/Singapore.

Anyone has any update on this?

stil waiting…

damn, i am thinking if i should just book with jetstar or wait for this. Tried contacting vietjet and they said they have no info

I'll wait lol. Jetstar is famous for delays and offers no free service like Vietjet. Then why not choosing a direct flight….

Hadnt heard this was coming. That's pretty cool. I have flown them from Brisbane to HoChiMinh last year - its no frills for sure, but no more or less than Jetstar or any other low cost provider. You can buy food on board if you want, they even take bids on the plane for spare middle seats and rows if you them and they are spare which is a bit unique.
Best bit 4 of us flew return in the school holidays for $1800 total including some baggage. That price is a well worth any missing frills!

“We understand that Vietjet won’t be flying to Auckland this summer as announced by the airline earlier this year.
“While this is disappointing news we look forward to working with Vietjet on long-term plans to connect to Auckland.”
