    Two things:

I’d missed these were out, thanks for the heads up.

Can’t believe they still take online orders etc without any form of confirming group membership.

    • Shhhhh! Don’t give them ideas

      • Sorry

FWIW for both 1000xm4 and 1000xm5 the price was inflated for months after launch. Both of those went from 600 to consistently selling in the 400s

I was able to buy at cost + VERY SMALL AMOUNT and actually ended up reselling xm4s a few weeks after launch for a profit on trademe for about $450 (wasn’t gaming the system, the Bluetooth switching on windows genuinely didn’t work for what I wanted)

    • I got the 1st gen for 700 and was always annoyed the rest were cheaper. Finally i ddnt get most expensive. Got the 4s for a bargain tho

Edit - ddnt mean to reply to your post, was just supposed to be a comment

Keen to get the XM5s once they hit a good price. They seem super comfortable. Been rocking Technics EAH-A800 for a few years now but the heaviness gets to me after a while.

      • Ahh, so that's what's bothering me about my EAH-A800s. I've never really been able to figure it out, always thought it was the clamping force.

        • Great headphones but they just seem so heavy. I tried the XM5s instore a few times and was quite surprised by their lightness. The XM6 seem like a decent upgrade too, according to Marques Brownlee(youtube.com) but I just can't convince myself to buy headphones at that price.

          • @Wakrak: Marques almost convinced me that they are worth it, although he's comparing them to other options that I wouldn't be buying anyway but I do really need some new noise cancelling headphones. I also actually need new earbuds so the package deal does offer some value as well. I should probably just bite the bullet and buy them but its hard to spend $660 on headphones.

            • @KevlarCoated: Not sure if the USA have some preorder specials as well - but if their RRP list price is 449 USD then that works out to be around $761 NZD (before any additional state tax?).

If it is indeed $661 with a pair of free (decent?) buds thrown in as well then this could help with the argument… But agree it is a lot of money!

Check out the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4, they're great IMO :)

        • Cheers. Will take a look. Had Sennheiser HD 380 Pros prior to Technics EAH-A800 and was impressed with em for the price.

I have these and sound wise they’re great.

Noise cancelling is acceptable for on planes etc but I would want more.

I’m now wondering if there will be a M5 at any stage 🤔

      • I got the XM5s for $375 last year, they've been great. The reviews seems like they're not that behind the XM6, build quality does look better though on the XM6.

        I wouldnt wakrak.

        Ive had 2 xm4s and the xm5.

Xm5s cant fold in when not used which ste a nuisance to carry around.

Xm5 does improve on xm4 by reducing the head clamp force.

Its not too bad, I fly alot, and only really use the headphones when I travel. The case isnt that bad, doesnt take up that much room in my backpack or carry on bag.

I did give the bose QC ultra ago as well as part of their 90 day risk free trial, and decided to keep the XM5.

tried the XM5s, the earcups unfortunately were quite shallow and my earlobes were in contact with the inside which was bothering me over long durations. I got the Bose QCs and they're so much more comfortable.

    • Should add that was some form of staff pricing that meant they were well down from $600

    • Got XM4 for Boxing Day last yr for $298,

Paying 'new' tax of $200 doesn't seem worth it for XM6

Nice. CSC Main + $10 Email Signup + $50 Bonus Gift Card = Effective Price: $590.27 (or $540.27 if combined with new customer $50 AfterPay promo). Can confirm bonus gift card is included with CSC. Thanks OP, I was about to buy from Sony.

  • I bought my XM5s in August 2022 for $489 thanks to the CSCBG deal hehe. No longer work in an open plan hot desk office though so mostly just used at the gym.

    • Nah secondary market prices on the XM's and others like bose qc really drops off

      • I got my XM5s for $375 from Sony last year and sold them for $350 the other day.

  • How does one get the csc? They're asking for a NZBN but I don't have one.
