I bought a Lenovo S03 from AliExpress for like $45. Has all of the buttons for all of the console controllers to work with all of them, feels great in hand and the build quality is excellent.

i like aliexpress but tbh the switch pro controller is one of the best controllers in terms of ergonomics and feel for me i am okay with paying over two times the price for nintendo.

      • Not to mention that there is no way it will turn on the console remotely, even the switch 1 controllers which are forwards compatible with switch 2 won't be able to turn on the console.

It'd also be missing the chat button, the headphone jack, and the remappable back buttons.

        • Why would it be missing those?

It has a headphone jack and the remappable buttons underneath, doesn't have the chat button.

Can't comment on switching it on but apparently the Switch 2 has switched from a dedicated wake circuit to normal bluetooth implementation, so it's quite possible it actually would. Looking further into it, switching to plain jane bluetooth is what allows for the headphone jack, as it's normal bluetooth audio (that the other consoles/controllers already have).

It's genuinely a great controller, I had two PS5 controllers and whilst I still have them (Windows gaming and emulation, including Switch), I use this one and they're gathering dust.

Edit: Also the Switch 2 controller doesn't have hall effect analogue sticks, weirdly. That seems like it should be standard on premium controllers.

          • @danvelopment: You should make a deal post for the controller :-)

            • @cub3y: Nah, I've made a couple AliExpress based posts but I don't like making them because the exchange rates are constantly changing and there's too many vendors and variables around the sellers. And you can't just recommend a product in a post, you have to link to a source with a specific price.

For third party products (like Lenovo) they're all identical across the vendors on AliExpress, and I have no affinity to any particular vendor. So whomever is cheapest and reviews well, and that always changes. Or even get them from places that aren't AliExpress.

The product is good, no matter where you get it from, but cheapies doesn't have "good products with rough price guideline" posts.

  • Thanks OP, saved ~$60 moving some accessory preorders over to Harvey Norman from EB!
