ShopBack NZ Hotel Bookings - Anyone Have Experience? Expedia, Booking.com etc

Just wondering how it works if you select options like "pay at the property on check in day" instead of paying online. Hopefully they get tracked the same way and confirmed as long as I do eventually make the trip and payment?

Keen to hear from people who have successfuly claimed cashback with bookings where they didn't pay online.

Hi! I’ve used Agoda before, got Cashback via Cashrewards.com.au

I paid cash at one of my hotels I stayed in, I did get the Cashback, but it did take about 3 months.

    • Likewise, would recommend CashRewards over Shopback - who have yet to correctly track a single thing for me.

      • cashrewards good for customers from nz?

        • Yes. Have collected $700+ from them yet. And they have been very reliable.

          • @ace310: what are some example stores I can use? most stores seem to be aus specific

@samamatara: Amazon au, aliexpress, temu, apple nz, viator, some more. I know there might a filter for nz store, not sure. I keep an eye on bonus cashbacks, or upsize.

i would check the official hotel website for pricing as these booking site seems to be more expensive than directly with the company

    • yep I've definitely found this to be the case, so I'm only using third party sites when pricing is similar or the same

    • Many hotels list their prices as a fixed rate and rarely if ever discount them on their own booking service as it can be precived poorly by the "upper crust" sort of customer. It's why last minute and discount sites started to exist to begin with.

  • Have done this with Cashrewards.com.au and ShopBack. Just be aware that ShopBack tells you to expect cash back within x months, but if you pay at the hotel it won't be until after your stay and confirmation by the booking company.

Try aggregator sites like Google, Trip Advisor and Hotelcombined.co.nz, as all the booking companies have various discounts/promotions for various platforms/times/dates. Google tends to include the price if booked via the actual hotels website.
