China Airlines: Auckland to Taipei, Taiwan from $1135 Return (2x 23kg Bags) @ Beat That Flight

140

One of the best airlines to fly out of NZ on, this is NOT Air China (mainland Chinese airline) but China Airlines - Taiwan based.

Search results might show even cheaper routes, but you can use the filters to choose just China Airlines.

Very nice luggage allowance too.

Also has flights to Japan from $1191 Return.

Auckland - Taipei on China Airlines return

  • On another reputable flight comparison website, they show transfer at Brisbane and not direct.
14hrs is a hell of a long time for direct flight.

    • That's right there is no direct flight. It goes via Brisbane. They call it a "technical stop" but hey, still a stop, even if it is a toilet stop it is a stop :D

      Good deal nonetheless!

      • Yea… but that means you can't bring alcomohol through carry-on…

        • Why not, the transit in Brisbane is just a transit. You remain air side and don't go through customs.

          • +1

@Discount Code: I've taken China Airlines to Taipei and back and you do go through a security check at Brisbane unfortunately. So you can't buy duty free liquor in Taiwan or Auckland airports - although you can at Brisbane airport.

That being said, buying alcohol outside the airport and putting it in your checked baggage is much cheaper (definitely on the way back from Taiwan in my experience).

            • @Melodiam: I see, I stand corrected. Seems like a change to many years ago.

            • @Melodiam: Yeah I find the price and selection of alcohol is better in the countries than duty free anyway.

Stock up and fill your suitcase and there's no issues.
