Both One NZ & Kogan AU Provide eSIM. Chances of Kogan NZ Getting eSIM? AI Seems to Think That It Is Already Here

I googled if Kogan does e-Sim for NZ and got excited by ai's answer here - https://imgur.com/a/ceE6GkX

But been searching all morning and cannot see this anywhere else other than AI.. Good one ai..

Anyway - if I'm missing something and KoganMobile NZ does provide e-Sim, could someone advise how?

If not, I'm on the "Large" 15GB BOGOF plans and wondering if there are any equivalent value plans offered by any providers with e-Sim options please?

Thanks!!

  • Perhaps AI is confusing Kogan NZ with Kogan AU? which has had eSIM for a while now. Or assumes that Kogan NZ does eSIM because One NZ provides that option.

    • Thanks mate, that sucks though! Got excited for a bit! Any other providers plans close to the kogan deals that provides e-sim that you are aware of?

      • Mighty mobile will do deals occasionally and have esim (instant online signup and service). I am on their highest tier for $40pm but have seen their lowest tier for $25pm and they also have 365 day plans. Coverage is OK, Great in cities, hit or miss as a traveler. Honestly not any different to the big 3 ( I tried spark and virgin 3 month travel plans first and was not happy at all)

        • Kogan/Vodafone actually has been really good. - so hoping to keep that sort of performance if possible.

Nobody should be trusting anything that AI tells them at this point.

It's a bit like just believing any random thing posted on the net without being discriminating as to source.

Interesting that it's hard to get both grandparents and kids to understand though.

  • Issue is if you are going to travel overseas and get a data only esim, you will loose the ability to have your kogan mobile on.

  • Any options to consider as viable alternative to Kogan but one that also allows e-SIm?

  • what are the benefits of a e sim?

You get everything a physical SIM has and more.
No need to remove an exisitng SIM card when you get an eSIM and they can be set up at any time - no need to go out a buy one as it's done online.
You can have multiple eSIM profiles so if you travel frequently you can turn on/off the relevant eSIM with a simple setting change.

      • Yes.. thanks @bigcheese
