Good deal I just spotted, can effectively get a $250 product for $5 with the $55 establishment fee.

      Based on the Noel Leeming deal last week, I believe you can avoid the annual fee if you cancel before 12 months.

      Yea super easy it's done through finance now. Weekday approval use to be within 30mins given you have no issues with credit or id. From my experience 😁

    soooo we gotta sign up for the card , then buy 250 or more worth of stuff on interest free BEFORE 15 May , we will then get the credit of 300 on 15 or 16 may that can be used to pay towards the loan amount of 250+ $55 fees? OR do we gotta pay cash of 250+ $55 fees and then after we can use our 300 of credit? bless

    I have gone through the t&c and fees quickly, I think this is what happens:

    1. you apply and get the card, you pay $55 establishment fee as a one off charge. You don't have to pay annual fee because that happens a year later. You can always cancel the card before then.

    2. you spend $250 at PBTech to buy something (say a $340 AirPod 4 ANC), you will get 300 purple dollars (not cash or credits in your account).

    3. you make sure you settle your $250 with purple card before due date or interest rate applies, like any credit card

    4. you use the 300 purple dollars with participating retailers only, such as NL, Warehouse, PB Tech (full list here: https://www.purplevisa.co.nz/features/rewards/)

    So yes it's great if you have $550 worth of stuff to buy, separately. You will end up paying $305 ($250 at PB + $55 establishment fee). You will save $245.

    Any cheapies can think of a better way to beat the system please let us know!

      Keep in mind that the $300 is applied as a credit to your balance 90 days after purchase, so if your plan is to use this as a discount on a single purchase, don't pay it off early; make sure there is at least $300 still owing until it gets applied.

        This promo is totally different from the previous one. Read the TnC carefully. The previous promo on NL is credit of $300. The current PBT promo is 300 Purple dollars.

        You CANNOT use purple dollar to repay your credit card debt. You can only use it for new purchases.

        *Refer to purple card tnc section 73.

      Appears it does count. Has to be an eligible transaction to get purple dollars, an eligible transaction means: Any transaction other than a cash advance, balance transfer, interest free transaction, fees, interest, and any insurance payments.

          I just tested the Pbtech website, once you added gift card into the cart. The Purple visa option (12months interest free) is not avaiable on the checkout………..Got my card open…any ideas what should i buy…LOL

      I think it's only applicable if you do a non-LTF transaction, but if it's a LTF transaction you gotta pay the establishment fee I believe

    Just FYI, was trying to use this deal before it expired.

    My Purple CC would decline everytime on PBtech online. Called Purple CC and they said it wasn't from their end.

    They made me go instore (which I really didn't want to) but it did work there.

          ends." - from their own terms and conditions, 90 days would be in breach of the T&C

    Stupid question but how do we use our purple dollars? I made a puchase at warehouse with he the purple visa and it just charged me.
