Looks like all the special ways of getting a discount such as VPN is now not an option ..sad times.
No game pass 3 years using upgrades works either.
Is there any way to get discounts on Xbox keys , store gift cards or games these days?

Best money saving was doing Microsoft rewards, but they are experimenting on us and have taken a sledgehammer to the points tally since January. It's still just about possible to pay for game pass just using rewards but you do need to "play" a game on Xbox and pc every day for 15 minutes, well, open a game.
Luckily I got in on it while the rewards were high to keep my game pass expiry 3 years out and I have codes cashed in to cover until December 2028, so any more points just keeps pushing that date out further. It was the best deal in gaming when you could earn enough points a month to cover 2 months of game pass and spend the rest in store credit.
Has anyone had any experience with g2a or all key shop?
The VPN , overseas cdkey game is up id say. Also alot of the g2s are account games which goes against the Microsoft t&cs. Dunno if I want to risk it again.
Not as far as I know. You can go to sites like Gamivo and sort by Xbox games that can be activated in NZ, and you might save a few bucks compared to buying them through the MS Store, just be wary as I see lots of accounts being sold as games where you don't get a code for the game you get the login credentials to an account that you can play it on, which seems a bit dodgy.
I guess we'll just have to suck it up and pay full price for Gamepass, which I don't mind doing because it's still probably the best deal in gaming. For console games that aren't on PS+ or Gamepass I just buy 2nd hand physical copies which I can flick on once I've finished them, for PC I have other ways of getting games that may or may not involve an eye patch…….
