KGM Torres Special Introductory Prices: 2WD $34,990 RSP, 4WD $39,990 @ KGM

90

KGM (previously Ssangyong) is a Small Korean automaker.

This is a fairly large medium SUV 4,715mm long (Rav4 is 4,620 mm), which is advertised as having a 703L boot with second row in place (rav4 is 580L).

Frustratingly the NZ web-page says the brochure is coming soon, but I understand:

  • 1500kg tow rating
  • 235/55R18 tires
  • 8 aribags
  • 1.5L turbo petrol engine making 120 kW & 280 NM
  • rated 7.4 L/100km on the 2wd
  • Carplay & Android auto.

More space than a rav4, for less money than a corolla…

EV version is $55k.

i bought this car last year after my peice of junk 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe's engine siezed at 90,000kms. .
for the price, its massive value for money, has alot of tech included in the price, the 1.5L turbo is pretty efficient and does have alot of power, more than my 2.4L santa fe

i dont have any regrets buying it.

    • These vehicles, they still have to prove themselves first. Who could forget the kia seltos? I'm still KG

      • the KGM had a 5 year warranty with 5 years roadside, so i was quite happy to give it a shot.

Interested to see how this is going with the NZ audience - looks great from the front and god awful from the rear (IMO). Had the potential to be a great looking vehicle.

@The Hound: Looks like a hearse - wouldn't want to be seen dead in it, let alone alive

  • Damn, if only it was the Rexton. We're looking for a 7 seater that doesn't break the bank.

Rexton has a special introductory price too. Not quite as sweet as the Torres, but still, A 7 seater for around the same money as a base Rav4.

      • Unfortunately it's too much for us, 35K would be stretching our budget already. I'll have to keep my eye out for a used one

Don't know why they haven't updated the links on the website as this has been available for some time.

EV version was $45k on special, but all gone now I believe. New version coming soon so explains the bump in price.
