Still no Wifi 7 on these…

Guess I'll be waiting until the M5 to upgrade my M1…

  • It's really tempting, but my son is in the last year of high school, not uni… does anyone know what sort of proof Apple asks for, and if they actually ask for it?

Just tried and could get until payment page without any student confirmation. Haven’t finished payment yet though.

I’ve ordered a few times in the past for my kids (high school) and never been asked to prove they are at a tertiary institution.

      • Did you have to claim warranty at all would that be an issue?

        • +1

I haven't needed to but I don't think it would be an issue.
The receipt you get from Apple is just like an ordinary purchase.

Have bought couple of ipads using my regular email for my kids in school. No proof was asked.

      They don't ask for proof.

    @gotyourback we need a 15% cashback before March 13.

    • Yes, please :)

    • @gotyourback yes I'd buy one in a heart beat if they increase their cashback for the Apple Store before then!

    • Usually new products are exempted from cashbacks unfortunately

    • looks like you wish was partially granted at 10%:

      =)

  • I’m very tempted.

But I’d need to sell my m2 air and M1 Pro laptops

    • Yeah I'm on M2 air. It's plenty fast for me, although it does run a little hot at times..

    • How much are you after for the m1 pro?

Got an M4 Air. Really hoping the battery management is better than Windows

I swapped from Windows to Macbook Pro M4 Pro. No regret, the battery lasts forever with Mac.

      • That's good to hear. It was getting pretty annoying getting to uni and just having a flat battery, or bitlocker screwing something up and asking for its decryption key.

The battery life is great on the m series,

      • For reference, I'm still using a 2020 M1. I'm still charging it once a week. It's fantastic.

        • Same here the m1 is fine, it reduced my need to use the desktop.

  • Anyone know if the MacBook Air M3 is being discounted anywhere in store? Seems like all stores showing online have just completely removed them but surely some have stock and are on sale!

  • Are they still using the slow single NAND module for the 256GB model?
